Class Description: Part 1 of a 3-Part Series (Classes Sold Individually) Gaining confidence in the kitchen begins with being comfortable with a cook’s most important tool – a sharp knife. In this class, you will learn basic knife skills including how to choose a knife that’s right for you, how to sharpen your knives, and most importantly … how to keep your knives sharp. Then you will practice fundamental knife cuts for vegetables, such as mince, dice, julienne, etc. In addition, the chef will demonstrate how to carve a chicken. Once all of the food items are cut to perfection, the class will create several dishes that focus on cooking techniques that will increase your confidence in the kitchen and help you start to build your own repertoire of recipes to be used for years to come.
